Howdy. So the contest has ended and I have posted the answers to the quotes. Most everyone got the quotes all correct so I am going to have to throw the correct folks into a hat and draw randomly. But anyway, on to the updates: Thanks to Nancy I have pics of Phil from the Red Dragon premiere (under Misc Pictures). I also have a larger version of a picture from Red Dragon, 4 new pics from Love Liza, my review of Red Dragon, and Wendy's review of Flawless. Please remember that you can email me your reviews of Phil's movies and theater and such at any time and I will post them, uncensored, on my site! Anyway, as always, I've updated the News page a bit. This has been a fairly slow year in terms of Phil news. Either that or I've just been hella busy. By the way, for those who've been asking me relentlessly, I haven't heard anything further on Confederacy of Dunces. Sorry. MOVIE QUOTE! What movie is this from: "Shithead? What's a shithead?" ??? It's a sequel and it rocks my socks with how terrible yet captivating it is. Don't forget to go see The Rules of Attraction next Friday. I'm in it. Anyway, peace out folks.

I apologize for going 2 whole months without updating. But to celebrate, I have for you the MONSTER OF ALL MOTHER UPDATES!!! First, there is the news of the RED DRAGON CONTEST. I want to restate here that I am not making any money off of this promotion. NONE. No funds is exchanging hands. I'm doing this cuz it's cool and it's fun and the contest is cruel and sadistic. Erm. *wink* I mean, yeah. So what I have for you: NEWS, 6 new Truly Misc pics, 19 new Love Liza pics, 2 new Red Dragon pics, 1 new Wallpaper from Red Dragon, 6 new pics and gallery for the 2002 Toronto Film Festival under Misc Pics, 24 pictures and new gallery for the film Joey Breaker as well as my Review of Joey Breaker, Wendy's Review of Montana, and Lee's Journal of Our Lady of 121st Street. Thanks for update assistance goes to: Nancy, Lee, Frits, Kristen, Catherine, Karen, John, Conrad, and anyone else who emailed me to tell me that the Love, Liza website links to mine. That's cool, yo. Keep them updates coming! Yes yes yes, all is well with the world... No quote this time cuz it's all about the Red Dragon contest... PS I also added some LINKS.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHIL!!!! Philip Seymour Hoffman has just turned 35. Yay Phil! And in celebration, I have made 9 new desktop wallpapers from Phil's films and just misc pictures including one of him and John C. Reilly! I hope you like them! I also have added a new pic (well a nicer version of an older pic) to the Chris Buck photo page and two new Truly Misc Pics on the 2nd page. Have a great Phil day! Peace.

7-22-02
(tomorrow is Phil's birthday!) NEW DESKTOP WALLPAPER! I made it myself. I figured since so many people like State and Main so much I should make a desktop for it. It's 800x600 cuz that's my res and I am such an egomaniac that I think everyone should be like me. Also, TONS of news! And... well I could certainly bore you all to tears and beyond by going on about how I was up for about 3 or 4 hours last night/early this morning tweaking code on every single page on this website. You notice the bar of text links to the main pages on the site that are at the bottom of every page for your navigating convenience? Well I decided that it would be a good idea to uniformalize them all. Standard issue you know? So I went through and deleted all Lookalikes, Quotes, and Webrings links (lookalikes and webrings being completely unnecessary and quotes being the next thing to go when i find something else to add. i only have it here cuz i didn't have a lot of stuff when i started the site...) and made sure each page had an Articles and FAQ link. Then I decided it was high time that I made this site it's very own email button instead of linking to one from an account that could get closed down any day now since I never access it. So there is a new email button. And I've made all the pages with backgrounds fixed so if you're using IE then the backgrounds don't scroll. And I discovered an error in linking on the Articles page and four such errors with the two pages of Truly Misc Pics. Now I can go through and re-archive the whole site. Haven't done a thorough backup since March so it's about time. Oh, right, if you're still reading, you want a really easy movie quote? Tell me where it's from: "You're entering a world of pain". Come on folks, I *know* you've seen it. :) Anyway, peace out.

7-21-02
Yeep! All I have for you is my review of The Big Lebowski! Of all the crazy luck, one of my local theaters showed it as their Midnight Movie last night!!!! Woot woot! I got so inspired that I just had to write a review of it for you. Don't forget to send me your reviews!!!! Peace.

7-20-02
Great news! Link to the site where you can directly reserve your tickets for Our Lady of 121st Street!!! Yay! Also, thanks be to Amy for submitting a review of Next Stop, Wonderland! The review has been linked throughout the site. Please submit your reviews of Phil's work!!! I will love you forever! Also, Kristin correctly spotted that the last movie quote is indeed from Back To the Future. Having the quote from it was my little way of celebrating the trilogy's release on dvd. Not that I have the money to buy it. I'll be selling my soul later this summer to buy the audio books of Ender's Game and Shadow of the Hegemon later this summer. Bah, not to mention that I will have to purchase Shadow Puppets. Hrmmm... anyway, I've decided on song lyrics for the next movie quote! What movie is this the theme song of (and incidentally, I put this chorus on my graduation announcements... which I made myself!): "The greatest adventure is what lies ahead. Today and tomorrow are yet to be said. The chances, the changes, are all yours to make. The mold [of your life is in your hands to break." so come on! it's a great film! John Huston and Orson Bean! Woot woot! Take care folks! Peace off.

Your tax dollars hard at work: thank you again to all contributors. You all rock my world. Hard core. So I have some news, thanks to Lee and Amy for their contributions. I have added links for two new Lookalikes, one of whom was Phil's photo double in a scene from Red Dragon. I didn't add pics or anything of them, just offsite links. And as promised: 30 screencaps from MONTANA, with a special bonus: 10 screencaps from HARD EIGHT to replace those old ones that my computer ate. I've also put together my own reviews of Montana and Hard Eight and linked them through the site. Don't forget that if you want to write a review of any of Phil's films or theater or television, I will be more than happy to publish it totally uncensored on this site! Just email it to me. Other updates: I have 2 new pics from Owning Mahowny (apologies to those who had shit fits when I called it that and said it was really Maloney or Malowny or whatever, this is what it's being called now. I'm going with the flow on this one), and I think that's it for now. I have updated my Misc page to include the fact that I have now seen Hard Eight. Erm. Yes. Thanks to everyone who sends me news, links, and such. Y'all rock my world. Now I will leave you with a movie quote. Who knows what film this one is from: "If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour ... you're gonna see some serious shit." come on people, I know at least all of you have seen this film! *snickers* So... yeah. Peace off.

6-28-02
HELLO!!! I have a HUGE SHOUT OUT to ALISSA!!!!! Alissa has sponsered this site to the point where it just moves me to tears to think that anyone could love this site and Phil so much!!! Alissa forever! All hail Alissa! *woot woot*** This site can never close down now! You are all guarenteed Phil-y goodness and my own sarcasm and inappropriateness for at least another year of love and fun in the sun!!!! KICK ASS!!! Now on to the updates: thanks to Sabrina for referring me to rexfeatures.com where I got you TONS of new and newish Phil pictures!!! We have *deep breath* 4 news pics from the 24 Hour Plays, 3 new pics from Cannes, a new pic from Last Party 2000 (probably taken at a promo stint or something but it's with Donovan so... yeah), and so many new Truly Misc Pics that I have made a SECOND PAGE of them!! I am going out of town to visit the folks for two weeks but when I return I promise that I will get screencaps from Montana and I will try to write up a review of it (and of the other films I've seen in the meantime). Please feel free to send in YOUR REVIEWS OF PHIL FILMS AND THEATER for publication on this site!!! Maybe I should create a form for submitting them... folks tend to go for forms more readily than email.... *snicker-snack of brain thinking* On a lighter note, since it's been only two days, you can still go back and tell me where the last quote was from but I will give you a new one here: what film is this quote from: "Don't quote Dickens in my apartment!"... yeah yeah yeah I'm not getting that much divine inspiration these days so I have to keep going back over the same few films and circles of films... *tsk* I'm trying! really! Ok, whoever gets this one gets a cookie. :) peace out, yo.

6-26-02
Hello 'ello!! I bet you didn't expect another update so soon! :) well here it is! Alls there really is... is a news snippet with link to Red Dragon trailer, new pic of me on Misc page, new Donations page and ummm... yeah. s'all. And the nameless person who correctly spotted last time's quote is Kristin who also correctly guessed this past quote which is in fact from Sneakers as bespoke by the lovely Ben Kingsley! I had wanted to put one of his quotes from Sexy Beast but I couldn't recall any really really good ones at the time... so anyway, tell me, what film is this quote from: "If there's some magic in this world, it must be in the attempt of understanding someone else, sharing something. Even if it's almost impossible to succeed, but who cares, the answer must be in the attempt." that's my weak attempt at showing my mushy side... yeep! peace out.

6-21-02
Woo! Twice in ONE WEEK! I impress myself. I just have a few news updates, basically saying that i don't know what is up with rumors and old news and a totally unsurprising push back on the release date for The Sweet Spot. That kind of thing. I just really had to update cuz TWO people correctly spotted the movie quote!!! Amy and someone who did not give me their name. YAY!!! Congratulations to you! You rock! the song is Shpadoinkle from Trey Parker's Cannibal! The Musical which is one of the greatest films ever and you all should go buy the DVD and watch it with the commentary. it's beautiful. And if you didn't fall in love with Dian Bachar in Orgazmo, he'll win you over in that one. Yes. So I have to go find you a new quote! Impress me by telling me what movie this quote is from: "The world isn't run by weapons anymore, or energy, or money. It's run by little ones and zeroes, little bits of data. It's all just electrons." ahhhh great movie... the more i see the more i am convinced that 1990-1993 was a great time for films... some really good ones came out then. I should have chosen a quote from an Elijah Wood film because at the moment i am completely madly insanely obsessed with him. but... *eh* the more i think about it, the more i realize that i really haven't seen that many elijah wood films... that is all.

6-18-02
Well this time I was just one month and one day! At this rate I might be updating again in three weeks! *wink* So, what's new? Well: 13 pics from the Cannes Film Festival (link is on the Misc Pics page), a new Truly Misc pic, a new pic page for Red Dragon with a pic of Phil as well as a pic of the poster (which has Phil's name on it! YAY!). Also, tons and tons of news! And I've tweeked the Filmography page a bit and changed the link URL for the LAByrinth Theater Company as well as adding a URL on the Lookalikes page for DJ Paul Andrews. Another note: I've changed the pic of me on the Misc Page to the South Park me and I've added 'Montana' to my 'seen' list and as I also own it, hopefully soon I will pop it in and get you some nice screencaps. I highly reccommend Montana, by the way, it's a really great film. Update thanks go out today to the following folks: Lee (as always!), Andrea, and CD. Also, if you want to become a sponser of this site or just donate money toward the Phil page fund, any and all is appreciated! Send a check or money order! I have PayPal (though I have no idea how to receive money through it)! I'm a starving college student! *wink* No one guessed the last movie quote. Too bad. Good movie that. So tell me where this one is from: "The sky is blue and all the leaves are green. My heart's as full as a baked potato. I think I know precisely what I mean when I say it's a shpadoinkle day." and yeah... it's song lyrics. *wink* Great film. See that one too. I just got it on DVD. mmmmm.... that is all.

I AM NOW PAYING TRIPOD FOR THIS ACCOUNT

Note the lack of adverts and banners and be grateful that I can afford to pay $5 a month for you people and your damn scopophilia. *wink*

you thought i was going to make it two months didn't you? *wink* too bad! Just made it too with less than a week to spare, yo! and I have quite a BIT to report. First there is shitloads of new Phil NEWS!! There is a new pic from Sundance, 3 new Truly Misc pics, a new pic from State and Main, a new pic and page for Last Party 2000, and I have been going through fixing all the broken images and thumbnails. They are all fixed EXCEPT FOR EVERYTHING FROM HARD EIGHT. See, my Zip disk with the archive has corrupted the Hard Eight folder so my computer freezes up and shit every time I try to open it and the geocities account where the images were housed is dead. So what I need someone to do is email me all the old Hard Eight pictures. Ok? You do that. Update thanks go out to the following folks: Frits, Nancy, Susan, Catherine, Pamela (check the news page, go order some Phil prints!), and of course, Lee! Also, Lee is the lucky winner of last update's movie quote contest! It was indeed said by Jack Nicholson in the awesome fim The Shining. Now tell me, won't you, if you've heard this one before: "You remind me of an infection I once had". Hint: Gay boy movie. Very cute. Very hot. Said by the obligatory flamer with the bleached hair. *wink* Ahhh... and Anthony Barrile is in it? And I have a poster of it on my bedroom wall? Right. Go for it folks. Anyway, I've been busy busy busy. To find out what I've been up to since I last updated, I suggest you look into either my dead or live journals. Also, if you're on livejournal, check out the community for Who Is that Guy? cuz it's all phil-ish and stuff. Keep those updates coming and I promise I will try damndest to keep the site more up to date than I have. Also, if you find any broken images or thumbnails that are NOT from Hard Eight, please report them! Thanks! Peace off folks.

I apologize for the shitty ass quality of the scan of the new picture on the SUNDANCE page. It is from the Premiere magazine thing and if anyone can get a better scan of it that would be really awesome. I also have a new ARTICLE and truly MISC picture thanks to Lee who is also been newly linked on the linking pages and who wrote up a new REVIEW of her experience with JESUS HOPPED THE A-TRAIN and on top of all that, she guessed the last movie quote which is from PSYCHO and said by the late great Anthony Perkins. Now if you can guess which film this quote is from: "You've had your whole fucking life to think things over, what good's a few minutes more gunna do you now?" eh? Come ON, you KNOW what movie it's from so EMAIL ME and tell me and you'll be COOL like LEE!!! [WARNING the following is nonsensical rambling by me and has nothing to do with Phil or any of his minions. So: Or you can be cool like me and stay up for two whole days doing nothing but drinking coke and watching movies (dude, I watched Bad Lietenant. Never watch that movie. it's depressing as all hell and Harvey Kietel is one of those people who ought to be clothed.) And your housemates can go crazy on you. See, they can be one of them straight people couples and one can go out of town all of a sudden and then the very same day she leaves, he can bring a girl over and they can get 'drunk' and she can stay over all night and they can go out to breakfast and then pretend like it's all perfectly normal for weird creepy shit like that to happen and he didn't even introduce me to her. i'm frightened. eek. must go watch gay porn. feel better. mmmm.... [i really liked the homoeroticism in a nightmare on elm street part 2. who is with me??? marshall bell ROCKS hardcore you know it.] Keep a candle burning!!!! Peace out mates.

3-16-02
Hullo! Thank you LEE for transcribing the first 25 minutes of Inside the Actors Studio!!!! Go to the articles page and read it NOW!!! I think if I'd have had to do that whole bit too I would have died. And I would have had 'Death by James Lipton' on my gravestone. Or my urn. Whatever. Also! Some news that Bravo with air Phil on ITAS but whether its the same old episode or not is unknown. No other news. Congrats to Krystal for guessing correctly that the last movie quote was indeed from DOG DAY AFTERNOON, said by Al Pacino to John Cazale [RIP]. Your next quote is.... from a horror film.... "Hate the smell of dampness, don't you? It's such a, I don't know, creepy smell." come on people!!! you know this one!!!! Incidentally I loooove Anthony Perkins. I wish HE hadn't died either. Bah. Take care my dear little poppets. Peace.

3-10-02
mmmm.... turkey jerky... I hate Netscrape and I have IE. I hate the bloody internet. Ok, I have: NEWS! A NEW ARTICLE!!! 2 NEW TRULY MISC. PICS! A NEW SUNDANCE PIC!! A NEW PIC FROM THE 24 HOUR PLAYS!! A NEW AUTOGRAPH PICTURE!!! Geocities is threatening to stop remote linking so some of the thumbnails might stop working on some of the older pic pages. When they stop working, I'll figure out which ones I need to regenerate. I don't keep archives of thumbnails [it would really be a silly waste of space] so it'll cost me some busywork time. I'll put it on your tab. Movie quote time!!! No one got the last one so you don't get to know what it's from. If you can guess this one, I will think the WORLD of you. It's from a JOHN CAZALE film [and there were only like 5 of those before the darling man died so it's not like this is HARD] so if you don't get it, you're a poseur: "Wyoming's not a country" and i'm hungry like the wolf. Peace out.

2-22-02
OOOOO I am so pissed off. I just updated this page and it wouldn't save. ARGH! Ok, so once more time!!! (Thanks to Lee, Bob and Nancy for your contributions!!!) News on Voltage, etc; 2 new Sundance pics; 3 new Love Liza pics; older interview from Jesus Hopped the A-Train era; newer article on Sundance from IndieWire; yeah. Conrats to Ithinkhernamewas Marcie for guessing the last movie quote which, of course, was from Kiss of the Spider Woman!! Great damn film, check it out sometime. Next quote, see if you can guess where this is from: "There is a secret song at the center of the world... and its sound is like razors through flesh." come on, give it a shot!!! Right, I'd like to apologize for not updating for almost a month. First off, we just got DSL hooked up here at my new place like 3 days ago, next there hasn't been much to add, and third, February is always the busiest month of the year for me. Also, technology bites. I want a new computer soooo badly! Anyone want to buy me a G4 tower with dual processor??????? Didn't think so. Well, I'll wait for the G5 then!!! Right, so go and watch the teaser trailer for The Rules of Attraction. I'm not IN it *but* I was in the scene that they play backwards at the end of the teaser. They filmed us rushing out of the University of Redlands chapel and we did it like 7 times before the dude was happy... I'm in that bit but I came out of the door later than what they show. The film looks like it will be better than Slackers (which I have still not seen by the way which is tragic cuz I want to see vintage ME!!!)... By the way, here's a pic of me in Slackers... Daryn in girly drag!!!!!! YEEEE!

1-26-02
ugh... i am soooo fucking stressed out right now. i found out thursday night that i am moving today... well, it's only just 2am. but today i am moving across town. and i won't have internet hookups indefinately. so i may not be able to update for a while. i know there's an older article i need to add and lots of other things but i just am too tired and have so much more packing to do! ugh... take care! enjoy the new pics from SUNDANCE and the new MISC picture. and the news. such that it is. peace out, y'all.

1-19-02
YOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Ok. So I changed the pictures of me on the site. That's right! If you go to the Misc or FAQ pages, you can see two TOTALLY NEW AND DIFFERENT pictures of me. One is still a self-portrait picture. Cuz I got a digital camara for my birthday! Kick ass! Anyway, I've added the following: 3 pics from the Sundance festival (access through the Misc Pics page), a color version of the official Love Liza picture, a new Misc Phil picture of him, Paul Thomas Anderson and John C. Reilly which I nicked from another site. *wink* I also have two new articles - thanks to Krystal and Adriana for the link to one and thanks to Lee for the other! I'd also like to take a moment and thank y'all for your happy birthday messages to those who sent them! YOU ARE ROCK'N'ROLL DEITIES!!!!! Hells yeah. I love you. Ah, my adoring public. *WINK* Oh right so. Some news on Love, Liza. I ought to have a movie quote... Oh wait, thank you to Nancy for one of the pictures from Sundance!!! Movie quote: "The nicest thing about feeling happy is that you think you'll never be unhappy again.". Hint: this film is an OBSESSION with me. If you know about me or what I do every month on my personal site, you'll get it. Mmmmwahahahah!! So tell me where it's from and I'll love you forever. I dare you! ahh... just thinking about the movie makes me all happy... and sad. I gotta go. CLUH's having a training tomorrow and I'm facilitating some stuff in the early morning. Peace off, yo.

1-13-02
What did you do on your birthday? Oh, I updated my website. Well, I did. I've updated the copyright year on every damn page of the website. And Happy New Year while I'm at it! Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to Me! So, all I've done besides all of that which was a lot of work with naught to show for it - is: I've transcribed the blip on Jason Robards that Phil wrote for Entertainment Weekly for the January 4th issue with Russell Crowe on the cover. Anyway, I have to go now. I got a DVD player by the way! So if anyone wants to buy me DVDs, please feel free!!! Toodlepip and cheerio.

12-30-01
Yo. I added some news and stuff and changed my email address on the bottoms of the pages to my address at psh.zzn.com cuz excite.com is currently sucking ass. Ugh. Well, I'm tired, so I'll wish y'all a happy new year and shove off now. Take care.

12-18-01
Welcome to YEAR THREE!!! Yay! There are now three years worth of Site News to rifle through. Yo. Anyway, this update has been in the works for two days now -- I have some good news regarding Phil and Love, Liza and the Sundance Film Festival, as well as other news (including a repeat of Phil on Inside the Actors Studio on Bravo). Also, a picture has been added to the Love, Liza page. Woo! Other than that, there's not much news. No further word on the shooting of Red Dragon or anything. But at least Phil is doing some movies. Instead of this constant New York theater thing. Like I have said, I have no problem with him doing theater, or doing it in New York: my beef is with the physical location of New York. I wish it wasn't so damn far away from California. So how about celebrating Phil's upcoming wonderful appearance in Red Dragon with a MOVIE QUOTE??? It's from a horror film... "Demons to some... angels to others..." think Clive Barker. Any guesses? Special love and hugs to anyone who gets it right!!! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season. Sorry there's no like... special snowflakes or anything on the site. It doesn't snow where I live and I just think it's wrong to pretend that it does. And I'm not too much into some of the institutions of Christmas. I like Xmas lights, but only indoors as year-round decorations. I don't send out Xmas cards (cuz I'd want to MAKE the cards and I just don't have enough energy left after making everyone's Xmas presents...) and I don't approve of Xmas trees (I can't protest slaughter houses of animals by being a veggie, so I will protest the slaughter of trees by not buying one.) Word. Anyway, I want to point out that Steve Buscemi was nominated for an AFI award for non-leading actor in Ghost World. I think he needs Oscar recognition for this. But whatever. What do I know. Have a good day. Take care. Peace off.
